Description of Work Unit
The purpose of the work unit is to provide custodial services necessary to ensure clean, safe, sanitary, well maintained buildings to meet University customer needs and to protect the assets of
CSU which further enhance the University’s ability to achieve its objectives in instruction, research and public service.

The Facility Maintenance unit at Colorado State University needs great Custodian I for the AM shift. Under the direction and supervision of a Custodian II and / or Custodian III , the Custodian I provides a range of custodial services to building occupants including but not limited to cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, removal of trash and recyclable materials, window and entry glass cleaning, carpeted and hardfloor maintenance including vacuuming, spot cleaning and extracting of carpeted floors and vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, burnishing, stripping and refinishing of hard surface floors. This position is key to keeping our buildings in top condition for our students, employees and community.

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must demonstrate in the application materials:
- Six (6) months of custodial services experience in an institutional, commercial or athletic environment.

The highly desired candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, abilities, personal characteristics, and experience directly related and critical to this position:
EXPERIENCE :
Experience operating and/or maintaining basic custodial tools with very little supervision.
Experience with operation and use of vacuum cleaners, carpet extractors, wet/dry vacuums, floor scrubbing and/or polishing machines, buffing and/or other related cleaning operations.
Experience with snow removal.
Experience being flexible and adaptable in shifting work priorities.
Ability to utilize computers and other electronic mobile devices for business needs and team communication.
Strong verbal communication and customer service skills
Directly related state service experience
